Göteborg is the second largest city in Sweden. It is situated on the west coast of Sweden, at the estuary of the river Göta Älv. The city has around 500 000 inhabitants. As a seaport trade and international contacts have always characterized the life in Göteborg.
The city is easy to reach. The international airport Landvetter is situated around 20 km east of the city centre. The city is also easy to reach by train, ferry and coach from most parts of Europe.
The city is a well known organizer of great sport events. During the last decade a number of European and World championships in different sports have been held in Göteborg. The city is also well known for its outdoor concerts, especially rock concerts.
The city also offers a number of attractive museums and one of Europe's biggest amusements parks, Liseberg.
